From education to enterprise.
Theresa developed a career that crossed education, corporate business and entrepreneurship.
Izipho Gifts & Promotions' institutional history records her as a former educator who pursued academic qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration and Logistics through the University of the Witwatersrand. It also records a 15-year career with the Bidvest Group, where she developed commercial and operational experience that would later influence her approach to building businesses.
Her entrepreneurial history extended beyond the company for which she became best known. South African corporate-registry records place Theresa in formal business structures by at least 2002, when she was recorded as a member of Village Walk of Africa CC. Her entrepreneurial activity therefore preceded the establishment of Izipho Gifts & Promotions.
In 2008, Theresa founded Izipho Gifts & Promotions. Beginning from a small house in Alexandra Township, she developed the company into a corporate gifting, promotional products, printing, embroidery and branding business. An independent government-business directory also records Izipho as having been established by Theresa Letsebe in 2008.
Her interests were not limited to one industry. Corporate records later identify Theresa as a director of Ngwako House Realty Estates, a property-focused company incorporated in 2015, providing evidence of her involvement in the real-estate sector.
Theresa also participated in initiatives with a social purpose. In 2012 she became a director of Ithlokomeleng Batho Rehabilitation Centre, a South African non-profit company. This part of her history adds an important dimension to her legacy: enterprise was accompanied by an interest in community development and social impact.
Her later years remained closely connected to the business she had built. Public professional activity from 2024 shows her continuing to engage with Izipho's work, clients, branding projects, sustainability initiatives and conversations around African heritage and enterprise.
Theresa died in Johannesburg in March 2025, aged 67. Her official estate notice records her full name as Theresa Letsebe, born in September 1957.
